The start of healthy growth and rumen development
A calf’s first three months are a period of rapid development that affects the later stages of its life. In this period, what matters is not only live weight gain, but balanced support for the development of the digestive system, the formation of the skeleton and muscles, and overall development.
Bioyem Organic Calf Feed is an organic compound feed prepared for the nutritional needs of 0–3-month-old calves in their early development period; as a concentrate, it does not replace roughage and is used together with roughage in the ration.
In this period, calves’ nutrient needs change quickly with age. A balanced supply of energy, protein, amino acids, minerals and other nutrients is important for supporting rumen development as well as growth.
During the transition from milk to solid feed in particular, a gradual increase in the calf’s feed intake is important for moving later to a more efficient feeding programme.
Applying the right feeding programme in the first three months supports the calf’s healthy transition to the 3–6-month growth period.
