Sustainability
Responsible trade is part of thinking long term.
For Biosmyrna, sustainability is less a separate message than a matter of how we do our work.
Working with organic products, building long-term relationships with producers, protecting resources and the value of the product, and continually improving our processes form the basis of our approach to sustainability.

Contributing to the Organic Farming Value Chain
The sourcing and trade of organic products makes up a large part of Biosmyrna’s activities.
Organic production supports an approach that seeks to protect the soil, production resources and the natural balance. We carry out our commercial activities within the rules and certification framework that this production model requires.
For us, organic trade is not just a product category; it is part of a long-term approach to production and sourcing.

Direct, Long-Term Relationships with Producers
We believe a sustainable supply structure starts with the quality of the relationship built with the producer.
We source our products through contract farming and field purchases; we build direct relationships with our producers and follow production processes through field visits.
This approach helps us develop a supply structure with producers based on long-term relationships and mutual trust, not just one that meets the needs of a particular season.

Protecting the Source and the Product
We believe the value of a product must be protected not only at the point of purchase, but throughout the process from sourcing until it reaches the customer.
During sourcing, storage, product preparation and shipment, we take care to protect the product’s quality, organic identity and traceability.
This approach creates a more controlled way of working aimed at reducing product losses and unnecessary repetition.
We Build Long-Term Relationships
We believe a sustainable trade structure cannot be built on product and price alone.
We value developing long-term relationships with our producers, suppliers and customers, keeping our promises and building partnerships based on mutual trust.
Building sustainable commercial relationships instead of seeking short-term gain is one of the core principles of how we do business.

Efficient Use of Production and Resources
When producing organic feed at our own production facility, we manage raw material, production and packaging processes in a controlled way.
As we develop our production capability, we aim to use resources more efficiently, reduce product losses and continually improve our processes.
We Improve Where We Can Measure
We value developing an approach to sustainability that is measurable and based on real data.

- Assess

- Energy
- Water
- Waste
- Resource efficiency
As we develop our systems for measuring and monitoring energy, water, waste and similar environmental indicators, we aim to share the results transparently.
