Cattle - Organic Dairy Cattle Feeds
Organic Dairy Cattle Feed – Late Lactation (Day 201 Onwards)
Prepared for the changing milk yield and nutrient needs of the later stage of lactation. It is aimed at balanced nutrition that supports sustained production, the maintenance of body condition and appropriate preparation for the next production period.
Condition management in late lactation
From day 201, dairy cows enter the later stage of lactation. At this stage, while milk production falls compared with earlier periods, the animal’s body condition and preparation for the next production period become more important.
Bioyem Organic Late Lactation Feed is an organic compound feed prepared for the later-period nutritional needs of dairy cows that continue lactating from day 201 onwards; as a concentrate, it does not replace roughage and is used together with roughage in the ration.
The aim of the feeding programme in this period is to keep supporting milk production while helping the animal reach and maintain appropriate body condition. The levels of energy and protein and the balance of fibre, minerals and other nutrients should be assessed according to the animal’s production level and condition.
In late lactation, excessive condition gain should be considered as carefully as excessive condition loss. Monitoring feed intake, milk yield and body condition together is therefore important in preparing for the next lactation.
