Alongside trading products such as organic grains, pulses, oilseeds, feed raw materials and spices, we also have production capability in organic animal feed.

Our feed facility in Torbalı, İzmir and our Bioyem brand form an important part of this structure.

How does trading experience carry over to production?

Producing a feed is not just a matter of combining different raw materials.

The source, quality and continuity of the raw materials used directly affect the characteristics of the feed to be produced.

Biosmyrna’s experience in organic product trade provides an important advantage here.

We carry the sourcing and quality experience we have gained working commercially with products such as grains, pulses, oilseeds and feed raw materials into the feed production process too.

More control from raw material to final product

Having our own production infrastructure creates a different structure from simply offering a production service on the feed side.

We can manage a wider process, from selecting raw materials to the production process, and from preparing the product to shipping it to the customer.

This structure matters especially for feeds with specific quality characteristics and organic certification requirements.

Bioyem is the brand of this structure

Biosmyrna’s products in organic feed are offered under the Bioyem brand.

Bioyem has a separate brand structure covering organic feed options for different production periods of poultry, cattle, sheep and goats.

That is why we position Bioyem not just as one of Biosmyrna’s commercial products, but as the result of the company’s specialisation in feed.

Trade and production complement each other

Biosmyrna’s trading side and feed production are not two independent activities.

Knowing the product and raw material sources on the trading side helps assess the right raw material on the production side.

Knowing the needs of the production side, in turn, brings a different perspective to assessing feed raw materials.

These two areas working together create a more integrated structure that runs from product to production and from production to the customer.

The chain of trust in organic production

In organic feed production, it is not enough for the final product alone to be organic.

The suitability of the raw materials used, the requirements of the production process, record-keeping and the protection of the product’s organic identity until it reaches the customer should be assessed together.

At Biosmyrna, we continue our approach of working with organic products in feed production as well.

We do not accept conventional products into our facilities and warehouses.

A structure that runs from trade to production

We do not position Biosmyrna as just a trading company that buys and sells products.

While organic product trade remains one of our main fields of activity, our own feed production infrastructure allows us to handle sourcing, raw material management and production within the same structure for certain product groups.

This structure creates a different way of working both for our customers in organic product trade and for producers who need organic feed.

For us, production is not separate from trade; it is a natural continuation of sourcing the right product from the right source and offering more value to the customer.
