Poultry - Organic Laying Hen Feeds
Organic Layer Feed – Pre-Lay (17–19 Weeks)
Prepared for the nutrient needs that change as egg production begins. By helping meet the increasing energy, protein, amino acid and mineral needs of hens coming into lay, it supports the transition to the peak production period.
The transition to the laying period
Weeks 17–19 are a critical period in which pullets make the transition to egg production. During this period, the bird’s growth needs continue while a new nutrient requirement emerges as egg production begins.
Bioyem Organic Pre-Lay Feed is an organic compound feed prepared for 17–19-week-old pullets entering the laying period.
The aim of the feeding programme in this period is to support the bird’s development while adapting to the nutritional needs that change as egg production begins.
Mineral balance, protein and amino acids and the energy level become especially important during this transition. A feed suited to the bird’s age and production period helps the flock move into the laying period in a controlled way.
The feeding programme also needs to change once egg production begins. The pre-lay period should therefore be treated as a separate stage in the transition from rearing to production.
